Their bowling attack, especially their pace attack, has been marred with injuries, as they are still missing out on their 2 frontline pacers in Akash Deep and Mayank Yadav. In their first game, their bowling attack failed to defend 210 from a point where they had the Delhi Capitals reeling at 65/5. After that nightmarish game, their bowling attack, led by Shardul Thakur, made a rather heroic comeback in the 2nd game as they restricted the SRH batting powerhouse for an under-par total of 190. Thakur has clearly been the pick of the bowlers for them, and he has been ably supported by the express pace sensation Prince Yadav. Their lead spinner Ravi Bishnoi, is yet to join the party as he hasn’t had the greatest start to the season. Overall, their bowling department would breathe a sigh of relief at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, where wickets have been slow in nature. In the batting department, Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran have led from the front as both the batters have got fifties in as many games. The latter, in particular has been at his destructive best as he has got two 70+ scores at a strike rate in excess of 250. So overall, their batting seems to be in good shape and they would hope for their captain Rishabh Pant to join the party soon.
